The revolutionaries series on Amazon Prime tells the story
of some crazily valiant souls who fought the British Empire with their conviction
of steel. Despite knowing the strength of their opponents, they didn’t let
their confidence become brittle. They fought sacrificing their personal
happiness, so that the country as a whole could giggle without the fetters of
British Imperialism.
The story in the series depicts the heroic acts of Raas
Behari Bose, Nani Bala Debi, Bagha Jatin, Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Pratibha Lahiri, Lala Hardayal,
Kartar Singh Sarabha and many more revolutionaries of that period of early 20th
century India. The story of the series is replete with emotions that have deep
yearnings for freedom of the motherland. Everything in the story is drenched
with the thirst to make the country free from the claws of the oppressors.
The scale of visualization, the cliffhanger moments, the
acting, the direction, the locales : everything of the series could be
described only by the word -- majestic. To translate the story of Sanjeev
Sanyal( His book Revolutionaries(in English) Krantikari (in Hindi) ) in
a really palpable term is a tremendous job by the director (Nikhil Advani) of
the series.
All the actors shine in the series. Right from the
characters of Raas Behari Bose to General Dyer, everyone has put their soul
into the characters. You will never feel watching the series that you are watching
actors doing acting and that is the strength of the series. You will feel that
Raas Behari Bose, Bagha Jatin, and Nani Bala Devi are interacting with you in
their bone and flesh avatar and you will get compelled to salute their commitment
and conviction for the freedom of a piece of pulsating land that is called India.
I would like this series to break all records of viewership
and I give it 10/10.
